Released at the Talyllyn Railway’s “Anything Goes” Gala, SIMBA (the latest offering from Boot Lane Works) is based upon the Talyllyn’s very own No. 6 Douglas.
Drawing together CAD designs, 3D printing techniques and laser-cut technologies, SIMBA fills a gap in the TR locomotive roster for 16mm modellers and utilises Boot Lane’s adaptation of the Binnie wheel to create an effective, yet affordable driving wheel.
The kit is powered by a 3-6v motor, and comes complete with all the builder needs to finish this beautiful model, 3D printed parts in filament & resin, laser-cut acrylic, metal work, nuts, screws, etc. The only things not included in the kit are paint, glue and your time!
There is ample room in the boiler barrel to fit X4 AA batteries, and still room to allow for an RC receiver of your choice, either in the barrel or firebox over the motor.
We do recommend access to a small "bench vice" to build this kit.
Building instructions are included with the kit.
Although not for beginners, the kit is reasonably easy to construct and requires basic tools, glue, paint and batteries to complete.
